10-day first trip itinerary: Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Shanghai — is this too rushed?
First time visitor, ten days total. Route: Beijing (3d) → Xi’an (2d) → Chengdu (2d) → Shanghai (3d). Worried about constant travel.

This schedule is doable but very fast paced, lots of time spent on transport.

I would suggest cutting one city to avoid burnout from moving nonstop.

Internal flights add airport waiting time you need to account for.

Alternative idea: Drop Chengdu and add Suzhou near Shanghai.
