5D4N Beijing Winter Trip — Is this pacing too intense for sub-zero weather

Hello, planning a 5-day winter trip to Beijing (early flight arrival Day 1, midnight departure Day 5). We will hire guides for the major historical sites.

Here is our daily breakdown:

Day 1: Tiananmen Square → Forbidden City (Guided) → Jingshan Park → Wangfujing Pedestrian Street

Day 2: Prince Gong’s Mansion (Guided) → Nanluoguxiang & Hutongs → Shichahai Lake (ice-sledding) → Yandai Xiejie (Tobacco Pouch Slant Street)

Day 3: Mutianyu Great Wall (Guided Day Tour)

Day 4: Temple of Heaven (Guided) → Summer Palace (Guided)

Day 5: 798 Art Zone → Taikoo Li Sanlitun → Late night airport transfer home

Is this itinerary too packed or too loose for the -8°C to 3°C weather?

Thanks for any feedback!

Actually, spending all those days only exploring Beijing will keep your schedule really relaxed, making it a laid-back and enjoyable holiday. The main thing to keep in mind is that Beijing gets pretty cold in winter, so make sure you wrap up warm. On the bright side, heating is provided indoors everywhere in Beijing during winter; you just need to prepare for outdoor excursions.
