Advice on traditional Chinese everyday clothing?

Hi, I'm arriving in Chongqing in a few days for six days and would like advice on buying traditional Chinese clothing. I'm looking for something light and breathable to wear.
I found search terms for Tang-style and modified Tang-style short-sleeve sets on Taobao. I'm considering ordering a couple of inexpensive sets before arrival, then visiting shops if I have time. I do not want to overspend for clothing I may only wear for a few days.
I'm a man, 172 cm and 75 kg. Should I worry about Taobao fit? How much does tailoring normally cost? I do not enjoy haggling, so I'd rather avoid a purchase that depends on it. Are there other practical styles I should consider?

For a short trip, an inexpensive cotton or linen Tang-style shirt is a low-risk way to try the look. Check every seller's garment measurements rather than relying on an S/M/L label: compare the listed chest, shoulder and length against a shirt that already fits you. Chinese sizing is often inconsistent across shops, so the measurement table matters more than the size name.
A Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) suit is an iconic modern Chinese formal style, but it is usually less practical as casual hot-weather sightseeing clothing. If you are interested in one, treat it as a tailored souvenir or formal piece and ask for a written quote, fabric composition and delivery time before agreeing. Good tailoring is not guaranteed to be cheap, and there is no need to haggle if the quoted price is not right for you.
For everyday Chongqing heat, prioritise breathable fabric, simple cuts and clothes you can comfortably wash or carry. Buying one piece first in a physical shop can also help you learn your local size before placing a larger Taobao order.
