Best 2-3 cities to visit late September?

I don't do too well in hot and humid temperatures, but I'll have a holiday from 20th September for 10 days and I'm fine not going out during midday for a few hours. I have been to Beijing and Shanghai and want to explore more. I was thinking Guangzho

I'll have to fly through Guangzhou anyway though

My recommendation: Nanjing → Wuxi → Suzhou → Hangzhou.

Here is why:

  • Ultra-convenient transit: These cities sit along a single straight line and are very close to one another. High-speed trains run even more frequently than city buses, so you never have to stress about getting tickets. If one train is sold out, you can simply hop on the next one 15 minutes later.
  • Rich history & mature infrastructure: All four are famous tourist destinations with abundant attractions and well-developed travel facilities. Thanks to their deep historical roots, historic landmarks are everywhere—even right in the city centers.
  • Ideal itinerary pace: Stay 2 nights in Nanjing, 1 night in Wuxi, 1 night in Suzhou, and save all your remaining time for Hangzhou. Trust me, you’re going to fall in love with West Lake.
