Bullet train Shanghai to Beijing first class vs second class

This might be an unwise question to ask, but I'd still like to know what's the most comfortable yet affordable way to travel from Beijing to Shanghai. I guess I'm comparing options to Business Class here, which I'm not really familiar with.

First Class is worth it if you want to work or sleep; Second Class is completely fine if saving money matters more.

Second Class: about ¥626 / US$88

It uses a 3+2 layout, with good legroom and power outlets. It can be noisy and busy, especially around families or phone calls.

First Class: about ¥1,035 / US$145

It is a 2+2 layout with wider seats, no middle seat, a footrest and more recline. The carriage has fewer people, so it is noticeably quieter and more relaxed.

For a 4.5-5 hour trip, Second Class works well on a budget. If you want to use a laptop or take a proper nap, First Class is usually worth the extra cost. If you book Second Class, choose a window or aisle seat and avoid B, the middle seat.
