China travel with kids stroller friendly cities
A family with a four-year-old is looking for China destinations where a stroller remains practical for most days.
We have a 4-year-old boy who can walk short distances, but still needs a stroller most of the time. I know traveling with a stroller can be a bit inconvenient, but leaving him behind just feels like something is missing. Any destination recommendations for us?

A stroller does make steep mountain trails and old stone villages less practical, but it should not stop you from having a great family trip. Larger cities generally offer the easiest pavements, lifts and accessible transport, especially if you book hotels near a metro station.
A north-to-south route could include Beijing, Qingdao, Shanghai with nearby Nanjing, Suzhou and Hangzhou, then Xiamen and Shenzhen. You do not need to do all of them: even two or three of these areas can fill a comfortable family holiday.
Bring a light, foldable stroller for station security and escalators, save the hotel address in Chinese, and plan one main activity per day. Malls, waterfront walks, parks, aquariums and museums are often much easier with a child than trying to stack scenic spots into the same afternoon.
