SEYA Panoramic Hotel Chongqing vs Indition High Altitude Hotel

I have been seeing viral videos of rooms with pools or hot tubs in the room.

How are these hotels in general? There are many reviews for Indition High Altitude Hotel on Trip.com, but I am not sure how believable they are. From the few Tripadvisor reviews, people complain of a sewage smell in the room and a bad Western breakfast.

Do they change the water often, or is this a case of “it looks fancy on Instagram” but the reality is dirty? Any advice is appreciated, or any other recommended hotels like this? Thanks.

I have not stayed at either of these hotels, but I have stayed at many hotels across China, so I will share a practical perspective. No matter how good a hotel is, there will always be downsides, and that is subjective. Nobody can truly pick the perfect hotel for someone else.

I would suggest booking an affordable mid-range hotel and adding a visit to one of Chongqing’s 24-hour spa complexes. Many have food, buffets, entertainment areas, foot massages, quiet rest zones and overnight options under one roof. Check the individual venue’s current rules before you go, but it can be a fun alternative experience for a night.
