My girlfriend and I will be in Shanghai around Halloween. We're a couple in our 30s, and we're looking for a night out plan for halloween: good music, good vibes! We love meeting people and make friends wherever we travel.
Shanghai's nightlife scene is overwhelming, there are a gazillion options out there, so here's my question:
Where would you recommend we go on the 31st-OCT with your partner?

If you want a relaxed, laid-back vibe and an easy way to meet people from all over the world, my top recommendation is FOUND 158 (158 Julu Road). No advance tickets are needed, you can freely hop between multiple bars, the Halloween street parade atmosphere is one of a kind, and the Latin bar El Santo is especially welcoming to Spanish travelers.
Suggested Itinerary
Stroll along Anfu Road or Wukang Road in the late afternoon to soak in the leafy neighborhood atmosphere, then arrive at FOUND 158 by 7:30 PM. Spend some time taking photos and wandering around the outer plaza first, then pick a bar at random for a drink—the vibe is best after 10:00 PM.
If you want a formal, high-quality DJ electronic party, buy tickets in advance for the ALTER. TOTS terrace. If you prefer live bands and a vintage atmosphere, book a spot at The Pearl Theatre.
Tips to Avoid Traps
Shanghai Happy Valley and Disneyland are crammed with massive crowds on Halloween night, making them terrible choices for quiet dates or socializing. Trendy downtown mega-clubs (like Bounce or 1OAK) are heavily commercialized with poor crowd movement, making natural conversation difficult.
