Which countries qualify for 144-hour transit visa-free policy?
How does it work practically?, I hold a UK passport and have a four-day layover in Shanghai. I want to leave the airport and explore the city before flying to Japan. Can anyone break down the actual rules? Worried immigration might turn me away.

You need confirmed onward flight to a different country, don’t forget that requirement.

The allowed travel zone is limited, you can’t travel outside Shanghai area under this policy.
